The Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy (S/GAC) is responsible for implementing the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) – the U.S. Government initiative launched in 2003 focused on saving and improving the lives of those suffering from HIV/AIDS around the world. PEPFAR supported programs are implemented in these countries under the leadership of the Department of State and through a multitude of U.S. Government agencies, including U.S. Departments of State, Health and Human Services, Defense; the U.S. Agency for International Development; and the Peace Corps.

As Travel Officer, the incumbent serves as the administrator for travel in the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy (S/GAC).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provides advice and assistance regarding official travel to members of the S/GAC staff, which includes both Foreign Service and Civil Service "direct hire" employees, detailees from other Executive Branch departments and agencies, and contractors.
Advice encompasses such travel questions, issues, or concerns as authorized allowances for temporary duty at locations outside the commuting area of the primary work site, per diem rates and appropriate miscellaneous expenses.
Researches Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and the regulations from the employee's parent department or agency to answer any issue or concern related to temporary duty or a permanent change of station to an overseas location.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in related fields appropriate to the work of the position; with a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
Must have secret clearance or ability to acquire one.
