Responsibilities
 
Research policy issues, identify stakeholder impacts, and support coordination that involves or relates to DoD efforts to counter the illicit drug trade, threat finance, piracy, transnational organized crime, and trafficking in persons, wildlife, and weapons.
  • Gather information and provide advice, opinions, and recommendations to USG personnel on matters related to DoD counternarcotics policy, such as terms for international agreements, treaties, foreign military sales, and security assistance programs, and DoD efforts to support USG programs to counter the illicit drug trade, threat finance, piracy, transnational organized crime, and trafficking in persons, wildlife, and weapons.
  • Conduct assessments, for USG personnel review, of broad changes to the international environment and implications for DoD efforts to counter the illicit drug trade, threat finance, piracy, transnational organized crime, and trafficking in persons, wildlife, and weapons.
  • Conduct a portfolio management and quality assurance program to improve decision-making, strategic alignment, and overall quality of counternarcotics portfolios in Mexico, Central America, Central Asia, Counter Piracy, and Counter Transnational Organized Crime.
 
Requirements
 
  • A Master’s degree in a field of study relevant to the expertise required (for example international relations, political science, security studies, sociology, etc.).
  • Ten (10) years of experience providing a similar caliber of services to the services described to very senior general officer or flag officer ranks in the U.S. Armed Forces or SES levels within DoD or other government agencies (or equivalent industry levels).
  • TOP SECRET Security Clearance (SCI Eligible)
