Do you have experience managing construction projects for the U.S. Department of State – Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations?  If so, Micro Systems Automation Group (MSAG) may have the next step in your career.  Individuals chosen for this role will be based and work at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C. with TDY travel only when necessary.  Active Top Secret clearance required.  Work Experience must demonstrate the following:

***Experience in managing construction projects that include the installation or replacement of FE/BR products; construction of reinforced concrete and steel hardline walls; and installation of technical security equipment.
***Experience in and mastery of theories and practical applications of professional physical and procedural security methods and practices for the protection of personnel.
***Experience in understanding and interpreting design drawings and construction plans to ensure that recommended changes applicable to security can be incorporated into a project.

 In addition to the required management duties outlined above, your tasks and assignments typically will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
  • Manage and oversee the installation, repair and replacement of FE/BR special windows and doors that have been tested and certified for different levels of FE and BR protection. Assist posts in the procurement of replacement FE/BR glazing panels from approved vendors.
  • Provide support to the FE/BR Regional Security Technician (RST) Program, made up of post-hired Locally Employed Staff (LES) funded by the SM FE/BR Program. Conduct training on the proper installation of FE/BR products as directed by the FE/BR Program Section Chief.
  • Conduct training and provide oversight for post FE/BR replacement projects that consist of teams of FE/BR RSTs and post personnel.
  • Ensure that all FE/BR windows and doors installed meet or exceed DS established standards; develop recommendations and proposals for DS to consider when studying, updating or modifying standards for FE/BR doors and windows based on experience in overseeing their installation, replacement and repair.
